Western Civilization in World History

Western Civilization in World HistoryWestern Civilization in World History by Peter N. Stearns
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A nice introduction to why Western Civ is taught and how Western Civ courses could be rethought (not eliminated) in world history terms. Stearns gives an overview of the major changes that shaped Western civilization from the fall of Rome (which he argues is the true beginning of Western civilization as a distinctive civilization) to the 21st century.
